A seminar titled "The Essence, Stages, and Ethical Principles of Scientific Research" was delivered by doctoral student Ali Rzayev on May 22, 2026, organised by the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology and the Department of Economics and Management at Khazar University.
The presenter is pursuing doctoral studies in "Labour Economics and Industrial Relations" at Istanbul University, Türkiye, under a trilateral agreement between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Khazar University, within the framework of the "State Programme on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023."
During the seminar, the presenter explained that scientific research is not merely a matter of collecting data, but rather a systematic process following a sequence of defined stages — identifying the problem, formulating a hypothesis, collecting and analysing data, and generalising conclusions. He further emphasised that a researcher's work must not only be technically sound, but must also be grounded in ethical principles such as integrity, transparency, and respect for the work of others.
