On May 26, 2026, Sarxan Khavari, Head of the Department of Science and Education of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Doctor of Philological Sciences, delivered a lecture entitled "Majnunism: Between the Known Unknown and the Unknown Unknown" at the library of the Narimanov Campus of Khazar University, within the framework of the "Integrative Lesson" project of the Department of Languages and Literatures. The lesson was opened with an introductory address by Dilbar Zeynalova, Head of the Department of Languages and Literatures and Associate Professor, who introduced the guest and spoke about the topicality of the subject. The lesson featured an extensive discussion of the philosophy of love in the works of Muhammad Fuzuli, the philosophical and mystical essence of the concept of majnunism in the work "Leyli and Majnun," and the role of love in the spiritual perfection of the human being.
Sarxan Khavari emphasized that in Fuzuli's work, love is presented not merely as an emotion, but also as a path to spiritual cognition and perfection, and spoke about the place of the concept of "majnunism" in classical Eastern thought and its contemporary interpretation. At the end of the lesson, students of the Azerbaijani Language and Literature program posed questions on the subject, and the seminar continued with interactive discussions. In conclusion, a letter of appreciation and a gift were presented to the guest on behalf of the university administration.
