Gulshan Aliyeva, a lecturer at the Department of Psychology of Khazar University, attended classes at Budapest Metropolitan University in Hungary from May 11 to 20, 2026, within the framework of the "Postdoctoral Program" organized by the European Scientific Institute, and simultaneously presented the findings of her research work. G. Aliyeva also attended lectures by her academic supervisor and advisor Dr. Vilmos Vass, Professor at the Department of Education of Budapest Metropolitan University, as well as by Dr. Viktor Friedmann, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Business, Communication and Tourism, and participated in an exchange of views on the professional competence of lecturers working in higher education institutions.
G. Aliyeva's research is devoted to measuring the professional competence of higher education lecturers in the 21st century (21st century competence structures model of university teachers: mapping teachers and students views). Both quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted in the study of the problem. It is particularly noteworthy that the research, which was based on an analysis of the perspectives of both lecturers and students, examined in a comparative manner not only the academic dimensions of lecturer competence, but also social-emotional skills, management styles, and the capacity to utilize contemporary technologies. Cases in which low levels of professional competence were observed were identified, and relevant recommendations were put forward for addressing such instances.
An article prepared on the basis of the research findings has been published in the Polish journal Futurity Education, which is indexed in ERIH PLUS in the field of humanities and social sciences. Further information on the journal and the article is available at the links below:
