Second-year psychology students of Khazar University visited the Vocational and Labour Rehabilitation Centre for Persons with Disabilities, operating under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on May 22, 2026. The visit was conducted within the framework of the "Social Work" course taught by Musa Samadli, lecturer at the Psychology Department, with the aim of enhancing students' knowledge and skills through practical observation. Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, staff member of the Khazar University Psychology Department and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Centre, also participated in the excursion.
During the visit, students became closely acquainted with the centre's operations, the social support programmes implemented there, as well as vocational training and rehabilitation services. They received detailed information on the efforts undertaken to integrate persons with disabilities into society, the significance of the social adaptation process, and the impact of vocationally oriented training on human life.
Observing the vocational training process organised across various workshops, students familiarised themselves with the practical work carried out to develop the labour skills of service recipients. They were also informed about the activities of social work specialists, the principles of individualised approaches, the importance of psychosocial support, and the steps taken toward the establishment of an inclusive environment. This visit is regarded as a contribution not only to enriching students' theoretical knowledge with practical observations, but also to fostering motivation for their future professional careers and further strengthening their sense of empathy.
