Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli participated on May 18, 2026, in an academic-artistic event titled "A Legacy from Generation to Generation," dedicated to International Museum Day, held at the Nizami Ganjavi Museum in the city of Ganja. The event was organized through the joint initiative of the "Dunya" School LLC's Nailakhanim Museum, the Jafar Jabbarly House Museum, and the Nizami Ganjavi Museum.
The event, held under this year's ICOM — International Council of Museums theme "Museums for Good Education," brought together staff members from more than 35 museums operating under the Ganja-Dashkasan and Tovuz-Gazakh regional culture departments. Staff from Baku's Samad Vurgun House Museum, Abdulla Shaig House Museum, Uzeyir Hajibeyli House Museum, Gara Garayev Memorial Museum, Niyazi Apartment Museum, Bulbul Memorial Museum, and Jafar Jabbarly House Museum also attended the event.
As part of the event, the mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi was visited and his memory was honored.
Speakers at the event included Nail Mammadov, Head of the Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Culture Department; Parvin Karimzade, Member of the Milli Majlis; Elmuxtar Muxtarov, Deputy Chairman of the Ganja Branch of ANAS; Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli; Aygun Isayeva, Director of "Dunya" School; and others.
In his extensive address, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli noted that Museum Day has been observed for 50 years, emphasizing the vital role of museums in preserving national and cultural heritage, passing it on to future generations, and educating society.
During the artistic segment, singers Ilaha Afandiyeva and Farid Aliyev performed pieces from Azerbaijani classical music. A dance performance by students of Ganja's "Dunya" School to the song "Inci Chichаyi" — with lyrics by Hamlet Isakhanli and music by Nailakhanim Isayeva — was warmly received by the audience.
Traveling exhibitions of the "Dunya" School's Nailakhanim Museum and the Jafar Jabbarly House Museum were also on display as part of the event.
Additionally, at the event, Aygun Isayeva, Director of "Dunya" School LLC, was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Culture Department for her contributions to the advancement of education and culture in the city of Ganja.
