On May 15, 2026, the next academic seminar was held within the "Khazar Talks-4" project, organized by the Department of Political Science and Philosophy of Khazar University. At the seminar, Amy Carlon, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America to Azerbaijan, delivered a lecture on the topic "The United States of America: Political System and Relations with Azerbaijan." The event was held in the Marble Hall of Khazar University and was met with great interest by the university administration, faculty, and students.
The "Khazar Talks" project was established for the first time during the 2024–2025 academic year by the Department of Political Science and Philosophy of Khazar University. Within the project, meetings with ambassadors, academic seminars, and book presentations are organized.
Prior to the event, Amy Carlon, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America to Azerbaijan, met with Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University; Dr. Razia Isaeva, Rector of the University; Prof. Muhammad Nuriyev, Vice-Rector; Dr. Milana Abbasova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; and Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy.
The event commenced with the playing of the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America. Dr. Razia Isaeva, Rector of Khazar University, welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of the visit of Amy Carlon, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America to Azerbaijan, to the university.
Amy Carlon then briefed the participants on her diplomatic activities as well as the recent directions of development in U.S.–Azerbaijan relations.
The Chargé d'Affaires answered questions from the audience on a variety of topics.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Razia Isaeva, Rector of Khazar University, presented Amy Carlon with a commemorative gift from the university.
