Within the framework of the Erasmus+ exchange program, Umid Mammadov, a representative of the International Relations Office of the Romanian-American University of Romania, visited Khazar University from April 13 to 17, 2026. The visit was aimed at developing international cooperation between the two higher education institutions, facilitating the exchange of experience, and expanding future partnership opportunities.
On the first day of the visit, staff members of International Relations Office provided the guest with detailed information on the university's operations, international relations, academic programs, student environment, and strategic development directions. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on existing cooperation prospects, student and staff mobility programs, joint projects, and opportunities for participation in international programs.
Having familiarized himself closely with the day-to-day activities of International Relations Office, the guest expressed interest in the department's student and staff exchange processes, coordination with international partners, and the admission procedures for international students. In this context, mutual experience was shared and new cooperation mechanisms of potential benefit to both universities were discussed.
On April 16, 2026, an information session was held by Umid Mammadov in the Marble Hall of the university. During the session, detailed information was provided on the higher education system in Romania, study opportunities at the Romanian-American University, academic and professional development prospects offered by the Erasmus+ program, student exchange programs, application procedures, and the advantages of international academic experience.
On the final day of the exchange program, an excursion to the Ateshgah Temple — one of Azerbaijan's renowned historical monuments — was organized for the guest with the aim of introducing him to the country's rich historical and cultural heritage.
The visit concluded with discussions on future cooperation plans.
