Organized by the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology and the Education Department of Khazar, a scientific-practical seminar by Fatima Valiyeva on the topic "Research Methods in Education: Data Collection Techniques" was held on April 27, 2026.

She is pursuing doctoral studies in "Education" at the University of Southampton under a trilateral agreement concluded between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Khazar University within the framework of the "State Programme on Enhancing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2028."

The main objective of the seminar was to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge on the stages of the research process, data collection methods and their practical application.

The seminar covered in detail the concept of research, literature review, formulation of research objectives and questions, as well as the stages of data collection. Particular attention was given to questionnaire design, types of interviews (semi-structured and group interviews), as well as focus groups.

During the practical part of the seminar, participants worked on developing research questions and structuring interview questions.
