On May 2, 2026, a presentation of the monograph "The Birth of Modern Azerbaijan" by Orxan Valiyev, Assoc. Prof. and Head of the Political Science and Philosophy Department at Khazar, was held at the "Litera" Book House. The book was published by "MIMTA Publications."

Parviz Amirov, Executive Director of the MIMTA Foundation, who addressed the audience at the presentation, emphasized the significance of the publication, stating that the work analyzes the history of Azerbaijan's national identity and state-building from a new scientific-theoretical perspective. Also delivering remarks at the event were Dr. Bakhtyar Aslanbayli, Vice President of BP Azerbaijan, historian Akbar Najaf, Assoc. Prof. Matin Mammadli, Head of Department at the Center for Analysis of International Relations, historian Assoc. Prof. Nigar Gozelova, and historian Dr. Dilgam Ahmad.

Speakers noted that the book examines, on a scientific basis, the path of development from the Enlightenment to political nationalism, approaching, in particular, the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic through the prism of political theory. It was stated that the monograph was prepared on the basis of the author's dissertation defended in Türkiye and had previously been published in Turkish and Persian as well. In conclusion, the speakers wished the author success in his future endeavors.
