On April 24–25, 2026, the Azerbaijan X International Psychology Conference was held at Khazar. Organized by the university's Department of Psychology, the event brought together local and international scientists, researchers, and specialists in the field of psychology. The conference aimed to strengthen international scientific cooperation, promote innovative approaches, and expand the exchange of knowledge on psychology. The event was oriented toward contributing to the development of psychological science and practice in Azerbaijan.
Over the course of the two-day conference, scientific presentations, panel discussions, as well as practical workshops and training sessions were organized with the participation of invited experts from various countries. On the first day of the event, participants exchanged views on current issues in psychology, contemporary approaches, and new research directions.
At the opening ceremony, the founder of Khazar and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, delivered a speech stressing the significance of the event. The rector Dr. Razia Isaeva, welcomed participants in an opening address. During the first day Sultanberk Halmatov delivered a presentation on "Neuropedagogy," Nevin Dölek on "The Principle of Resilience in Crisis Situations," Selçuk Aslan on "Compassion-Focused Therapy," and Elkhan Yusifov on "Contemporary Directions in the Research and Diagnosis of Neurodevelopmental Disorders." In the afternoon, presentations on addiction and trauma-focused therapy methods were delivered by Külteğin Ögel and Metin Başoğlu. The day ended with an online presentation by Tahir Özakkaş on emotion-based therapy.
On the second day of the conference, sessions were held on the following topics: "Art Therapy Atelier" by Sultanberk Halmatov, "Support Activities for Coping with Crisis" by Nevin Dölek, "Working with Addiction: Clinical Realities and the Practical Application of Psychotherapy Strategies" by Külteğin Ögel, and "Applications of Compassion-Focused Therapy" by Selçuk Aslan. The day concluded with the closing ceremony of the conference, during which certificates were presented to participants.
In the conference, the expansion of interdisciplinary collaboration among specialists was facilitated. Participants noted that the conference made a significant contribution to the formation of new ideas and the strengthening of international ties.
