An event dedicated to the 145th birth anniversary of Abdulla Shaig, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, was held at the "Natavan" Club of the UWA.
The UWA announced that the event was jointly organized by the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan and the Abdulla Shaig Apartment Museum.
UWA Chairman, People's Writer Anar spoke at the event about Abdulla Shaig's contributions to Azerbaijani literature.
Speakers at the event — including Asif Rustamli, Head of Department at the ANAS Institute of Literature, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor; Hamlet Isakhanli, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Professor; Zahid Khalil, Doctor of Philological Sciences and poet; and others — addressed another dimension of the writer's multifaceted legacy: his activity as a literary scholar.
At the conclusion of the event, Ulkar Talibzade, granddaughter of Abdulla Shaig and Director of the Abdulla Shaig Apartment Museum, expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed to the organization of the event.
The event continued with an artistic programme.
