Students of Sumgait "Dunya" School at Khazar University

Organized by the Department of Life Sciences at Khazar University, an educational excursion was held on April 30, 2026, at Khazar University for 3rd and 4th grade students enrolled in the Azerbaijani division of Sumgait "Dunya" School.

During the excursion, students were introduced to the laboratories of the Department of Life Sciences as well as the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Department Head Dr. Jamala Eldarova met with the students and provided information on laboratory conditions and safety regulations.

Associate Professor Gulbaniz Gasimova, a lecturer at the Department of Life Sciences, spoke to the students about the animal kingdom, emphasizing the importance of wildlife conservation and responsible attitudes toward living beings. In the practical segment, students observed tadpoles under a microscope and were also introduced to a non-venomous water snake.

The excursion continued at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Various chemical reactions demonstrated by department lecturer Gullu Aliyeva — including gas generation and a "volcanic eruption" effect — generated particular interest among the students.

The students also viewed creative works prepared by students of the Department of Architecture and Design.

The excursion holds significant importance in terms of fostering students' interest in science and shaping their future academic orientations.
