Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, a staff member of the Psychology Department at Khazar University and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Center, gave an interview to the news website "Tehsil365" on March 14, 2026. The psychologist shared his views on students' psychological problems, adaptation to university environment, and stress experienced during examination period.
The psychologist noted that for newly admitted students, factors such as adjusting to a new environment, social adaptation, and living away from family can create certain psychological difficulties. According to him, adaptation programs, seminars, and psychological support services help students adjust to the university environment more quickly.
Mirsadiq Mukhtarov also stated that stress and anxiety are more frequently observed among students during the examination period. He emphasized that while stress can generate a certain level of motivation, excessive tension can negatively affect students' academic performance.
The psychologist added that psychological services operating within universities play an important role in safeguarding students' mental health, managing stress, and facilitating healthier adaptation to the academic environment.
