Martin Sabovič, Head of the International Cooperation Centre at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, visited Khazar University on March 11, 2026. The meeting, held with the participation of staff from Khazar's International Relations Office, focused on existing and potential areas of cooperation between the two universities.
The parties exchanged views on academic exchange programmes — in particular, the expansion of student and faculty mobility under the Erasmus+ framework — as well as the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities, the establishment of dual degree programmes in a number of undergraduate specialisations, and prospects for developing joint international projects in the future.
During the meeting, a promotional presentation of Khazar University was delivered, providing detailed information on the university's academic programmes, international cooperation activities, research directions, and infrastructure. The guest, in turn, presented an overview of the faculties and academic opportunities at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. It was noted that, similarly to Khazar, the university operates faculties across a number of shared fields of study. A faculty specialising in Veterinary Medicine is among those in operation. The guest highlighted that the university maintains an on-campus clinic available to students throughout their studies, providing them with the opportunity to undertake practical training.
Following the meeting, Martin Sabovič visited Khazar University's laboratories, where he familiarised himself with the ongoing research activities and the existing laboratory infrastructure.
