On 27 February 2026, the Head of the Department of History and Archaeology, Assoc. Prof. Telman Nusratoglu, gave interviews to the TRT AVAZ and Haber Global channels on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Turkological Congress. Associate Professor Telman Nusratoglu spoke about the significance of the 100th anniversary of the Turkological Congress. The Head of Department emphasized that the congress played an important role in the scientific and cultural integration of the Turkic world.
Assoc. Prof. Telman Nusratoglu noted that the First Turkological Congress, held in Baku in 1926, marked a turning point in the systematic study of the common language, history, and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples. According to him, the decisions adopted at that congress gave a serious impetus to the development of Turkological studies in the subsequent period.
It was stated during the interview that the 100th anniversary is not only a commemoration of a historical event, but also creates new opportunities for strengthening scientific cooperation among Turkic peoples in the modern era.
