Taghi Mammadov, a bachelor's graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Khazar University, is among our young alumni who have distinguished themselves through achievements in the international academic arena. He successfully completed his master's degree at the Beijing Institute of Technology in the People's Republic of China and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. studies at Jiangsu University in the same country.
In 2025, Taghi was invited to appear on China International Television, where he shared his experience of living in China with audiences around the world. That same year, he spoke about education and life in China in interviews given to Azerbaijan State Television and other leading media outlets. Furthermore, based on an official resolution issued by the Propaganda Department of the Jiangsu University Party Committee, he was honored with the title of "Best Campus Netizen" ("校园好网民") for the year 2025. Only ten students university-wide received this distinction. Taghi was the sole international student among those honored. Representing the Institute for International Students, he was individually recognized in the "Positive Energy Online" ("网络正能量类") category. This award carries significant importance as it reflects the university's commitment to encouraging students who demonstrate healthy, responsible, and exemplary conduct in the digital environment. It also serves as a valuable example demonstrating that international students play a meaningful role within the university community in China.
Recently, while visiting his homeland during the winter holiday, Taghi gave an interview to the YouTube channel Chinese Bridge House. In the interview, he particularly emphasized that his academic and professional journey began to take shape at Khazar University. He noted that the additional foreign language oppjortunities offered at the university, along with its internationally oriented approach to education, made a significant contribution to his pursuit of studies abroad and his integration into the global academic environment.
Our graduate's story serves as an inspiring example for current students. Taghi advises young people to seize opportunities in a timely manner, to embrace the learning of additional languages, and to remain goal-oriented and patient. In his words, the small steps taken today can transform into great achievements that carry a person to the farthest corners of the world.
