A delegation from Khazar University visited the Marjan broiler facility in Ujar district, operating under Azerbaijan Poultry Company, on February 10, 2026.
The visit was led by the University's founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli. Participants included Chichak Aliyeva, Acting Dean of the Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Dr. Fakhrandah Afandiyeva, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Engineering; Dr. Gunel Bahaddinova, Dean of the School of Science, Art and Technology Graduate Studies; Dr. Milana Abbasova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; Dr. Khanim Omeroglu, Acting Dean of the School of Economics and Management; as well as Dr. Sabina Mammadova and Nurana Damirchiyeva, staff members of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
As part of the visit, a comprehensive information tour was organized for the delegation, during which participants familiarized themselves with the facility's production infrastructure, modern technologies applied in poultry farming, biosecurity measures, and quality control mechanisms. Rustam Gasimov, Deputy Director for Production, and Gunay Akbar, Head of the Marketing Department, provided detailed information on the company's operations and development strategy.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to the establishment and advancement of strategic partnerships between higher education and the production sector were extensively discussed. Priority areas identified included ensuring the integration of education and production, strengthening the application of theoretical knowledge in practical settings, organizing systematic and sustainable industrial internship programs for students, implementing joint scientific research and innovative projects, as well as facilitating specialist exchange.
Both parties emphasized the strategic importance of training highly qualified specialists for the sustainable development of the agricultural and poultry industry, and underscored the necessity of integrating academic knowledge with real-world production experience.
The meeting concluded with a mutual intention to further expand cooperation in the future. This visit is regarded as a significant step toward establishing a long-term and effective partnership between the higher education institution and the industrial sector.
