On February 12, 2026, a preventive and educational seminar on "Early Detection of Students' Risky Behaviors at School and the Role of the Teacher" was held with the administration and teaching staff of Secondary School No. 87 located in Baku's Surakhani district, organized by the Department for Organization of Preventive Work with Minors (DOPWM) of the Baku City Main Police Department.
At the event, Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, a staff member of Khazar University's Psychology Department and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Center, delivered a presentation addressing the psychological and social causes of risky behaviors observed in the school environment. He emphasized the importance of identifying such conditions as aggression, truancy, addiction tendencies, deviant behavior, and social isolation at an early stage. He noted that since teachers are in daily contact with students, they can detect initial signs in a timely manner and provide appropriate guidance. The psychologist also highlighted that strengthening school-family cooperation, increasing psychological awareness activities, and establishing a healthy psychosocial environment play a crucial role in preventing risky behaviors.
The event was attended by Police Colonel Ibrahim Ismayilov, Head of the Department for Organization of Preventive Work with Minors of the Baku City Main Police Department, Police Senior Lieutenant Aysel Hajiyeva, inspector of the same department, Afgan Agayev, Head of the DOPWM of the Surakhani District Police Department, and its inspectors.
The event was conducted in an interactive format with active participation from teachers and school staff, extensive discussions were held on the topic, and questions of interest to participants were answered.
