On January 26, 2026, the next online seminar was organized within the framework of the DIRNA project with the participation of partner universities. The seminar was moderated by Aytac Misgarli, Director of the Library and Information Center at Khazar University.
The event was held in accordance with the project's 4th work package within the framework of task D4.5 – "Permanent Seminars on Research Activities."
The instructors of the seminar on the topic "Trust in Information Systems and Effective Use of Data" were representatives of Jyväskylä University of Finland, Dr. Saana Mehtälä and Dr. Kati Clements.
During the seminar, the instructor provided detailed information about information systems, digital accessibility, and system characteristics. She highlighted three main characteristics of information systems: continuity, change, and dynamic relationships.
Subsequently, the topic of data management in information systems was addressed. It was stated that how data is stored, for what period it is retained, and to whom access is granted in accordance with the characteristics of the data should be clearly and transparently defined.
Within the framework of the seminar, the concepts of data transparency and trust were also discussed. It was noted that these concepts play an important role in ensuring responsible and ethical use of information systems.
