On January 23, 2026, the award ceremony of the Nailakhanim Scholarship Program was held at the Marble Hall of Khazar University.
The event, which began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was attended by Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, university staff and alumni, representatives of more than 10 embassies accredited in Azerbaijan, heads of higher education institutions, as well as representatives of various international and local organizations. The broad and diverse guest composition once again demonstrated the international significance of the event and the high interest in the Nailakhanim Scholarship Program.
Within the event, Ethiopian citizen Fieruz Juhar was awarded as the winner of the Nailakhanim Scholarship Program. Fieruz Juhar was selected for full compliance with the main criteria of the Nailakhanim Scholarship Program through high academic achievements, activity in the educational process, leadership skills, and participation in social initiatives.
Speaking at the event, Rector of Khazar University Dr. Raziya Isayeva and Head of the Nailakhanim Foundation Aygun Gardiner emphasized the program's contribution to the education of young people, the importance of supporting international students, and that this initiative serves the formation of social responsibility and leadership values in society. A certificate was presented to Fieruz Juhar.
The event continued with a cultural and artistic program, musical performances, and the screening of a video reflecting the activities of the Nailakhanim Foundation and the impact of the scholarship program.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that such events with broad representation of embassies and various institutions make an important contribution to strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and international partners and promoting multicultural values.
