The Department of English Language and Literature at Khazar University held an academic seminar entitled “A Global Framework for English: Is CEFR the Only Way?” on December 25, 2025, at the Neftchilar Campus.

The seminar was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu Ak from Bartin University, Türkiye, who shared her expertise on global approaches to English language education and assessment. In her presentation, Dr. Ak critically examined the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), addressing its widespread use, pedagogical value, and limitations within different educational and cultural contexts.

The Department of English Language and Literature extended its sincere appreciation to Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu Ak for her valuable contribution, as well as to all participants for their interest and active involvement in the seminar.
