On December 12, 2025, representatives of the Embassy of the United States in Azerbaijan Political Officer Kelly Wood and Specialist Kanan Mustafayev visited the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Khazar University. The guests were welcomed by the head of the department, Associate Professor Orkhan Valiyev, Senior Lecturer Guljan Kulakhmed, Dr. Rail Safiyev, and Assistant Firuza Ismayilova.

During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation between the U.S. Embassy and Khazar University’s Department of Political Science and Philosophy were discussed. Current U.S.–Azerbaijan relations and the impact of the August 8 Washington Declaration on the region were also among the topics of discussion.

At the end of the meeting, the guests were presented with the books In Search of Khazar and My Karabakh, or the Karabakh Knot by Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University. A commemorative photo was taken at the end.
