Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy, Associate Professor Orkhan Valiyev participated in the panel titled "Azerbaijan's Chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States and the Future of the Turkic World" held on December 10, 2025 in Ankara, co-organized by the Center for Analysis of International Relations at Hacettepe University and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.

Before the event at Hacettepe University, the delegation was received by the university's rector, Prof. Mehmet Cahit Güran, under the chairmanship of Dr. Rashad Mammadov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Türkiye. After a cordial meeting at the rectorate, Ambassador Dr. Rashad Mammadov delivered an opening speech at the event.

After the program at Hacettepe University, the next part of the panel continued at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, jointly organized by the university and the Center for International Relations Analysis of the Ankara Gaspıralı Foreign Policy Institute. Diplomats, political party representatives, academics, experts and students participated in the event. The panel ceremony opened with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs and the playing of the anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

The official opening speeches were delivered by the Vice-Rector of Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University, Prof. Hülya Bayraktar, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Türkiye, Dr. Rashad Mammadov. Then, panel discussions began under the moderation of Dr. Kadir Ertaç Çelik.

The panel included Dr. Javid Valiyev, a member of the board of the Center for the Analysis of International Relations, Associate Professor Nazim Jafarov, a lecturer at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Prof. Fırat Purtaş, Dean of Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University, Associate Professor Esma Özdaşlı, Director of the Gaspıralı Foreign Policy Institute, Associate Professor Levent Ersin Orallı, a lecturer at Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University, and Associate Professor Orkhan Valiyev, Head of Department at Khazar University.

Associate Professor Orkhan Valiyev made a broad presentation on the topic of “Azerbaijan-Turkestan Relations After the Second Karabakh Victory” at the panel, and held a detailed exchange of views on the new geopolitical realities forming in the region, the dynamics of integration between Turkic states, and future cooperation directions. The discussions continued interactively based on questions from the audience.

At the end of the event, the participants were presented with souvenir gifts and commemorative photos were taken with the panel participants.
