On December 9, 2025, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev delivered a speech at the panel titled “Azerbaijan`s chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States and the Future of Turkic World” held at Ankara University of Social Sciences. The event was jointly organized by the Center for Analysis of International Relations from Azerbaijan and Ankara University of Social Sciences from Türkiye. Diplomats, political party representatives, scientists, experts, and students participated in the panel. The panel opened with a moment of respect for the martyrs and the playing of the national anthems of both countries.
The panel continued with opening speeches by Dr. Fuzuli Majidli, Advisor to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Türkiye, Prof. Yasin Söyler, Vice-Rector of the Ankara University of Social Sciences, and the Prof. Ruhi Ersoy, Director of the Ankara Ahmet Javad Institute.
Then, panel discussions were held under the moderation of Prof. Elem Eyrice Tepeciklioglu. Dr. Javid Veliyev, a member of the board of directors of the Center for the Analysis of International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev from Khazar University, and Assoc. Prof. Nazim Jafarov from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics made presentations at the event.
Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev presented a comprehensive report on the topic of “Azerbaijan-Turkestan Relations After the Second Karabakh Victory” at the panel and exchanged views on the changing geopolitical realities and integration prospects in the region. He touched upon the new opportunities that emerged in the region after Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and shared his views on the development prospects of the Turkic world and the common challenges facing the OTS. The panel continued with answers to the questions.
The event concluded with the presentation of gifts to the participants and the taking of commemorative photos.
