Professor Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at Pakistan's Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), visited Khazar University on December 5, 2025, and met with Dr. Jamala Eldarova, Head of the Department of Life Sciences, and Dr. Javid Ojagi, Associate Professor of the department.
During the meeting, potential areas of collaboration between the two higher education institutions were extensively discussed, including the organization of joint scientific conferences, conducting training courses, developing collaborative research projects, and implementing joint academic supervision programs. Additionally, further collaboration prospects such as student and faculty exchange, shared use of laboratory infrastructure, and the establishment of inter-institutional consortia in the future were also the focus of attention.
It should be noted that Quaid-i-Azam University is not only one of Pakistan's prestigious public universities but is also recognized in the international academic community. The university ranked 354th in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, placing it among the region's strongest research-oriented higher education institutions.
