Organized by the Career and Alumni Center of Khazar University, on November 26, 2025, employees of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) held an informative session on the topic “The Role of SOFAZ in Ensuring Sustainable Economic Development in Azerbaijan” for the final-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management. The event aimed to enhance students’ practical knowledge of economic processes, the functioning of state funds, and the country’s development strategy.
In her speech, Zərifə Əliyeva, Director of the Career and Alumni Center, provided information about the Center’s main mission, goals, and areas of activity, noting that supporting students’ professional development and ensuring their successful integration into the labor market are among the Center’s priorities. Z. Əliyeva also informed participants about the career services, internship programs, and training and development projects implemented by the Center.
The session featured detailed presentations by Solmaz Teymurlu, Specialist of the Strategic Communications Department of SOFAZ; Reyhan Şərifli, Senior Analyst of the Shares and Alternative Investments Department of the Investment Department; Kamran Əlizadə, Chief Economist of the Strategic Projects Department; and Aysel Sadıqlı, Senior Specialist. They discussed the Fund’s founding history, operating principles, mission, and values. Students were provided with information on the strategic role of the Fund in the national economy, the importance of transparency in managing oil revenues, and the long-term development strategy. Additionally, information was presented on various infrastructure and social projects funded by SOFAZ, as well as the State Program supporting the education of young people abroad.
The event served as a valuable platform for students to enrich both their theoretical and practical knowledge. At the end, participants addressed their questions and engaged in interactive discussions with the representatives of SOFAZ
