With the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and organized by the "Regional Development" Public Union, on November 15, 2025, an international scientific conference titled "AZLING 2025 - Azerbaijani Language and Modern Linguistics: Problems, Prospects and Challenges" was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Neftchala district. The conference was initiated by Agshin Aliyev, Head of the Azerbaijani Language Department at Beijing Foreign Studies University and Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, and Gudsiyya Gambarova, Leading Researcher and Associate Professor at the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS. Dr. Raziya Isayeva, Rector of Khazar University, staff members of the Department of Languages and Literatures, and Chinese students participated in the conference.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Dr. Isayeva discussed the attention and care given to the development of the Azerbaijani language in the independence period, the work carried out in recent times regarding the preservation of the purity of the Azerbaijani language, the main work done by Khazar scholars regarding protecting and developing our language, appreciated the significance of the event being held, and wished success to the conference.
The conference continued its work with panel sessions. One of the panel sessions was moderated by Parvin Eyvazov, instructor at Khazar and member of the conference's scientific committee.
At the conference, staff members of Khazar University's Department of Languages and Literatures presented papers: Reyhan Madatova on "Remnants of Graphic-Phonetic Features of the Infinitive in 13th-18th Century Azerbaijani Written Monuments in Our Dialects and Subdialects," Almaz Badalova on "Auxiliary Parts of Speech Used in Western Azerbaijani Subdialects," and Parvin Eyvazov on "Periodization of the History of Azerbaijani Literary Language by Bakir Chobanzade."
At the conclusion of the conference, Khazar representatives were awarded certificates.
