On November 7, 2025, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, attended the opening of a conference hall commemorating Mustafa Karimov, an Azerbaijani martyr and graduate of Ardahan University in Türkiye.
The opening ceremony was attended by Zamin Aliyev, Consul General of Azerbaijan in Kars; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naciba Nasibova, education counselor at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Türkiye; Prof. Öztürk Emiroğlu, Rector of Ardahan University; Mehmet Sert, Deputy Governor of Ardahan; the university's academic and administrative staff; numerous students; the family of martyr Mustafa Karimov; Members of Parliament of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Prof. Anar Iskandarov and Shahin Ismayilov; Assoc. Prof. Dilbar Zeynalova, Director of the Department of Languages and Literatures at Khazar University; and other guests.
Speakers at the official part of the ceremony spoke about the historical significance of the Karabakh Victory achieved by the Azerbaijani people, the importance of honoring the cherished memory of the martyrs, and the significance of highlighting the Karabakh issue in scientific and literary contexts.
In the evening, a major concert program dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Karabakh Victory was presented at the Ahmet Arslan Congress and Culture Center in Kars. Consul General Zamin Aliyev described the victory won in the Patriotic War as "our debt to the spirits of our heroes who sacrificed their lives for our lands." In his speech, Hamlet Isakhanli spoke about the history of Türkiye-Azerbaijan brotherhood and Türkiye's support for Azerbaijan from the first days of the 44-day war. Among the speakers were Hayrettin Buğra Güzel, Deputy Governor of Kars, and Adem Çalkın, Member of Parliament from the AK Party.
Following the speeches, the winners of the poetry competition dedicated to the Karabakh Victory were awarded. Hamlet Isakhanli presented the award to the first-place winner.
At the end, Hamlet Isakhanli was presented with the Turkish flag as the most distinguished guest.
