On November 8, 2025, 2 articles by Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy, regarding the historical Karabakh victory were published in the Turkish press.
In an article titled “Marking 5 years since Karabakh victory: Turkic resurgence in focus” published in the Daily Sabah newspaper, Orkhan Valiyev discussed the contributions of the 44-day Patriotic War to the revival of the Turkic world. He emphasized that Azerbaijan’s victory not only ended the occupation, but also strengthened the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye based on the principle of “one nation, two states”. The article also drew attention to the role of the Shusha Declaration in strengthening peace in the region and cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
In his analysis titled “Building Peace After the War: Five Years of the Karabakh Victory” published in Anadolu Agency, Assoc. Prof. Valiyev analyzed the development of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia after the Karabakh Victory. He evaluated the steps taken by Azerbaijan to restore the territories liberated from occupation and ensure sustainable peace in the region within the framework of the “Great Return” strategy. The article also discussed Türkiye’s growing regional influence, the importance of the Shusha Declaration, and the future prospects of the Organization of Turkic States.
The article was later translated into Azerbaijani and published on the ordu.az website.
