Training Under "2nd Sustainable City Project" Concluded

The “Rural Forest Life Workshop” Multidisciplinary Spatial Planning Training, conducted from October 27-31, 2025, by Khazar University's Department of Architecture and Design in collaboration with the "Overseas Turks" organization and "Ufuk Planlama" company, has been successfully completed. At the closing ceremony, Fakhrandah Alimardanova, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering at Khazar University, delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of the project and congratulated the participants on their achievements.

Within the framework of the five-day training, students from Khazar University's Department of Architecture and Design majoring in architecture and design, SABAH groups from the Architecture and Construction University, as well as architecture students from many prominent universities in Türkiye, worked in a collaborative environment to develop creative and innovative projects for the development of the selected area and the planning of a new university campus.

At the final ceremony, students presented their projects to the jury panel. The jury consisted of Associate Professor Dr. Shahla Abbasova, Director of Khazar University's Department of Architecture and Design, along with instructors Sevinj Hasanova, Ilaha Tahmazli, Fatma Atashkaya, Gunay Mammadova, and assistant Jamila Safarova. Among the project's international partners, Dr. Nejla Kılınç (founder of "Ufuk Planlama" Company and Kent Orman Yaşam Atölyesi), Professor Dr. Halim Perçin (Ankara University), Aydoğan Kılınç ("Ufuk Planlama" Company), and architect Kübra Ergül served as jurors.

The jurors highly praised the presented works, particularly highlighting the students' team spirit, architectural vision, and creative thinking. Project director Dr. Nejla Kılınç, founder of "Ufuk Planlama" Company and Kent Orman Yaşam Atölyesi, delivered remarks expressing her satisfaction with the successful completion of the training. She highly commended the creativity, collaborative skills, and ecologically-based approaches demonstrated by the students throughout the project: "During these five days, we not only prepared a project but also witnessed young people from different countries getting to know each other more closely, exchanging ideas, and learning together. The students presented very rich ideas not only from an architectural perspective but also in terms of social and ecological values."

Dr. Kılınç added that this project served as both a professional and personal development experience for the students. According to her, during the project, participants succeeded in understanding the “Rural Forest Life” concept not only at the design level but also as a harmony of nature, people, and space. In conclusion, she expressed her gratitude to Khazar University's Department of Architecture and Design, the "Overseas Turks" organization, and "Ufuk Planlama" company: "This project once again demonstrated how valuable international collaboration is. I believe that this experience will be the beginning of larger projects in the future."

Following the presentations, certificates were presented to all participants, officially concluding the project.
