On October 21, 2025, a ceremony for the presentation of Khazar University's Honorary Doctorate diploma to prominent statesman, scholar Hasan Hasanov was held in the Marble Hall. The event was attended by the university's leadership and staff, as well as guests.
The university's founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, delivered a speech expressing gratitude for the fact that Khazar University was established in 1991 through the decrees of Hasan Hasanov, then Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR, and spoke about the subsequent development paths of Khazar, the country's first private higher education institution.
Khazar University Rector Dr. Raziya Isayeva delivered an extensive presentation about the university's current advantages in national and world rankings, its educational infrastructure and instruction, implemented projects, faculty and student body, international relations, and other important indicators.
Associate Professor Firdovsiyya Ahmadova, Head of the History Department at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and honored teacher, presented a report on the scholarly activities of Doctor of Historical Sciences Hasan Hasanov. She noted that the scholar established his own direction in the country's historiography, particularly in the study of Azerbaijan's ancient history, and is the author of numerous books and monographs.
Alirza Balayev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the university's "Khazar News" journal and honored journalist, shared in his speech his memories of meetings with Hasan Hasanov during the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Washington and the Turkish Day Parade events in New York in May 1993.
The Honorary Doctorate diploma was presented to prominent statesman and scholar Hasan Hasanov by the university's founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli. Hasan Hasanov delivered a speech expressing his gratitude for the high recognition of his scholarly work and wished success to Khazar University.
The event concluded with a concert by the university's Chamber Orchestra.
