From October 9 to 12, 2025, a delegation from the University of Tabriz (Islamic Republic of Iran), led by the university's rector, Prof. Mohammad Taghi Alami, paid an official visit to Khazar University. The purpose of the visit was to expand scientific, educational and research cooperation between the two universities, identify new partnership directions, and promote joint scientific research projects.

The event opened with a performance by the Khazar University Chamber Orchestra.

The founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of expanding relations between higher education institutions.

In his address, the rector of the University of Tabriz, Prof. Mohammad Taghi Alami, highlighted the potential for strategic cooperation between the two universities and stated that joint projects would contribute to the scientific development of the region.

Rector of Khazar University Dr. Raziya Isayeva delivered a presentation about Khazar University, providing comprehensive information about the university's international activities, research infrastructure, student exchange programs, potential, and other aspects.

Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the University of Tabriz, Prof. Asgar Asgari, in his remarks, addressed cooperation directions such as organizing joint PhD programs, creating dual degree programs, conducting joint research, and establishing joint research institutes.

Director of the Khazar University Biomaterials Research Center, Prof. Sudabeh Davaran, presented on the topic "Potential cooperation opportunities between Khazar University and the University of Tabriz."

At the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific and academic cooperation was signed between Khazar University and the University of Tabriz. The document envisages research collaboration, student and faculty exchange, joint scientific publications, and implementation of innovative projects between the two higher education institutions.

During the visit, the guests also became acquainted with the historical and cultural monuments of Baku and attended an official reception.
