On September 22, 2025, Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, a staff member of Khazar University's Psychology Department and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Center, appeared on the "Khabaraparan" television program on APA TV. The program discussed the topic of "Addiction" and covered not only substance addiction but also behavioral addiction issues. The program's objective was to emphasize the harms of substance addiction and educate the public for psycho-preventive purposes.
During his appearance, Mirsadiq Mukhtarov addressed the concepts of behavioral and substance addiction, explaining the impact of this problem on a person's biological, psychological and social factors. He stated during his appearance that addiction is not limited to the use of harmful substances. People becoming dependent on technology, gambling, social networks, relationships and even daily habits is also among widespread psychological problems. For this reason, education, early intervention, professional psychological support and family support play an important role.
