On September 4, 2025, a meeting was held at Khazar University with representatives from the Institute of Russian, East European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Institute Professor Jing Jie, Director of the Department of Central Asian and Caucasus Studies Zhang Ning, research fellows Jiang Jing, Lyu Chang and Sun Danmen, founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, University Rector Dr. Raziya Isaeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Mohammad Nuriyev, Dean of the School of Economics and Business Dr. Ingilab Ahmadov, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences Dr. Milana Abbasova, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management Dr. Mohammad Charkasov, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy Dr. Orkhan Valiyev, Acting Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine Chichek Aliyeva, Director of the Quality Assurance Center Lyudmila Sotova, and staff members from the International Relations Department.

During the meeting, Lyudmila Sotova delivered a presentation about Khazar University. The discussion topic of the meeting focused on developing mutual relations.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged gifts and took commemorative photographs.
