On March 12, 2025, a workshop titled "The Importance of Literary Speech and Correct Articulation in a Globalizing World" was held at Khazar University's Narcissus Hall in the Narimanov campus. The event, jointly organized by the Career and Alumni Center and the Department of Languages and Literature, featured TV and radio host and actor Saleh Bagirov as the keynote speaker. The workshop was attended by students majoring in Azerbaijani Language and Literature Teaching and Philology (Azerbaijani Language and Literature).
The Director of the Career and Alumni Center, Zarifa Aliyeva, opened the event by highlighting the Center's core activities, services, and the significance of maintaining strong alumni relationships. She also emphasized the positive impact such events have on students' personal development and career advancement.
Following the introduction, Saleh Bagirov delivered an in-depth presentation on literary language standards in everyday communication, the importance of proper speech, the richness of the native language, and the vital role of reading in young people's personal and professional growth. He underscored the special responsibility universities bear in establishing and reinforcing literary language norms, and advocated for theater attendance, tongue-twister practice, and reading aloud as powerful tools for language refinement, thought development, and enhancement of conversational culture.
The event featured noteworthy contributions from Department of Languages and Literature representatives, including Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dilbar Zeynalova, Dr. Almaz Badalova, Dr. Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, and other faculty members.
The workshop proceeded in an interactive format, with questions from both students and instructors addressed throughout the session.
