On October 15, 2024, a seminar on "Biopsychosocial Approach to Substance Addiction" was held at Khazar University, organized jointly by the Psychology Department and Psychology Club. The seminar was conducted by Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, a staff member of Khazar University's Psychology Department and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Center. The main purpose of the seminar was to take a preventive step against the widespread occurrence of substance addiction among young people by drawing attention to the harmful effects of substance addiction, which is widespread globally.

Mirsadiq Mukhtarov addressed the concept of substance addiction, explaining the different factors of this problem, as well as the influence of biological, psychological, and social factors. Additionally, during the seminar, the causes of addiction, its treatment methods, and modern approaches to this topic were widely discussed.

The seminar emphasized that substance addiction is not just an individual's psychological problem but also a large-scale issue affecting various levels of society. Its clinical criteria were reviewed, and the importance of different types of therapy in addiction treatment, as well as family and social support, was emphasized.
