On April 27, 2024, an environmental event was held at secondary school No. 43 under the organization of the Assembly of Children's Ambassadors for the city of Sumgait, which operates under the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Problems. The event was attended by Aynur Eyvazova, an employee of the Sumgayit City Executive Authority, Elshad Askerov, the director of the Azerbaijan representative office of the World Wide Fund for Nature, Rovshan Abbasov, the director of the Khazar University Ecological Research Center, and other guests.
Young volunteer ecologists delivered presentations on a range of topics including "Environmental problems", "Pollution of the lithosphere and radioactive waste", "Greenhouse effect", "Pollution of the hydrosphere", "Protection of forests", "Harmful habits", "Healthy nutrition", "Harms of plastic waste", "Cleanliness and benefits of water".
The event's objective is to instill a sense of responsibility towards environmental issues among future generations and provide educational guidance in this regard. Attendees underscored the significance of such gatherings in enhancing environmental awareness and broadening practical expertise.
