From April 22 to 24, 2024, an educational tour was held at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project "Development of Research Potential through the Network of Institutional Repositories in Azerbaijan (DIRNA)" coordinated by Khazar University.
Lyudmila Sotova, the head of Khazar University's Quality Assurance Center, Aytac Misgarli, deputy director of the Library Information Center, and Sabina Alimardanova, ISBN coordinator, participated in the program, joined by representatives from three European and seven Azerbaijani higher education institutions. The primary aim of the training conducted at the University of Jyväskylä is to enhance research results management in Azerbaijan, promote open access to research findings, and establish an inclusive network of institutional repositories.
Representatives from Azerbaijani universities (including Khazar University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State Customs Committee Academy, Ganja State University, Nakhchivan State University, Lankaran State University, and Mingachevir State University) and European universuties (such as L'aquila University in Italy and Izmir Institute of High Technology in Türkiye) attended the event.
Throughout the training, the University of Jyväskylä conducted presentations and discussions covering crucial topics such as university library practices, open scientific databases, and research data management. The goal of the DIRNA project is to establish a Network of Institutional Repositories (electronic archives) accessible to all, thus enhancing universities' research capabilities in managing research outcomes.
