By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated November 18, 2023, Vugar Valeh Mustafayev was appointed the Minister of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Vugar Mustafayev was born in 1986 in Baku. He graduated from the Academy of Public Administration, pursued a master's program at Khazar University.

He has specialized qualification in "Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)" - International Internal Auditor and "IBM Data Science Specialization" - Data Science.

He worked as a senior specialist at Ernst & Young CIS B.V, a globally renowned international audit companies. In 2012-2014, he served as the Director of the Internal Audit Department at Azerfon LLC.

In 2014, he was appointed as an advisor to the Executive Director at PASHA Holding LLC. From that year, he worked as the chairman of the Audit Commission of PASHA Insurance OJSC and PASHA Life Insurance OJSC.

In 2021, he became the head of PASHA Holding LLC's Representative Office in the Republic of Türkiye, as well as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Istanbul-based PDT and A.Ş.Real Estate Company.

By the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated March 15, 2023, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He was in that position until he was appointed as a minister.

He is married and has two children.
