On May 23, 2023, a seminar entitled "Organization of tours" was held by MIRAS Public Union for the Study of Cultural Heritage under the joint organization of the School of Economics and Management and the Development Office with the participation of undergraduate students majoring in Tourism and faculty of the School of Economics and Management.
Maleyka Huseynova, an employee of the project, a member of the management board of MIRAS Public Union, delivered a speech and informed about the objectives of the project, the upcoming goals, the measures planned to be implemented within the project, and the results to be achieved. Aida Malikova, executive director of Ginza Travel, made a presentation on the concept of tourism, organizations operating in the field of Tourism, their classification, functions performed during tourism activities, main issues related to the organization of tours, existing problems in this field, ways to solve them, international and national legislation in the field of regulation of tourism activities and other issues.
The aim of the MİRAS-PICASP seminars is to prepare the ground for university-institution cooperation in the field of cultural heritage, archeology, museums, and tourism in the Caspian region. The main goal of the project is to increase the competence of teachers in the field of small and medium-sized businesses on the basis of pilot courses that combine theory and practice with the introduction of open Free Online Courses (MOOCs), which are a new learning tool, introduce new methodologies and teaching aids, increase the level of staff training in the field.
