On February 23, 2023, a commemorative event called "Last Night in Khojaly" was held on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide in the Neftchilar campus of Khazar University with the joint cooperation of the Department of History and Archeology and the "Eternal Unity" organization.

Among the guests of the event, which began with a minute's silence in memory of the martyrs and the playing of the National Anthem, was Nagif Hamzayev, the member of the Milli Majlis.

In the first part, the lecturer of the Department of History and Archeology Prof. Nasiman Yagublu spoke with numerous facts about this genocide tragedy. The event, where various poems were recited and other speeches were made, ended with a memory photo.
