On January 16, 2020, based on a request by Dr. Hassan Niknafs, the Dean of School of Science and Engineering, an informal meeting was arranged with the Founder, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli.

The main purpose of the meeting was to acknowledge the best performers of the last academic year among all the full-time faculties at the School of Science and Engineering. The participants in this meeting with Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli were: Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering; Dr. Nuru Safarov, Chair of the Physics and Electronics Department; Lala Atamova, Researcher and Lecturer in the Mathematics Department; Dr. Rasoul Moradi, the Coordinator of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department as well as the Director of the Nanotechnology laboratory; and Javid Ojaghi, Researcher and Lecturer in the Life Sciences department.

The exceptional performance and contributions of each four chosen scientists based on their quality teaching, quality research work and publications, diligence to the assigned tasks, team-work ability, constant willingness to help, vigilance and commitment to their weekly schedule, and amiable character was acknowledged and appreciated.

Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli mentioned that among the three existing schools at Khazar University, the School of Science and Engineering has the greatest capacity and potential for increasing the number of publications with the help of quality research and joint research programs in between the various departments. Also, he heavily emphasized mutual research collaboration with the universities of the neighboring countries such as Turkey, Russia, and Iran; Not forgetting the West and Eastern Asia.

After about one hour of a positive and fruitful discussion, Prof. Isakhanli emphasized the needs of all the departments for further development of their laboratories, not only for student training but also for research.
