On November 8, 2016, the Web of Science 2016 Awards Ceremony for the Azerbaijani scientific community was held with the joint coordination of the Science Development Foundation of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic and Thomson Reuters. Khazar University was represented at the event by Dr. Isakhan Isakhanli, Vice President for Administration and Student Affairs, and Khayala Mammadova, Assistant Editor of Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The list of award winners was determined based on Web of Science, the leading platform in natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. Analysis was performed by experts in scientific research and intellectual property from Thomson Reuters and the Science Development Foundation.

Awards were presented by representatives from Thomson Reuters and the Science Development Foundation. The Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences published by Khazar University won an award for the category of “New Web of Science Journal.”

The Executive Director of the Science Development Foundation congratulated all the winners and wished them success in their endeavors towards the development of science in Azerbaijan. He noted that he was confident that these journals would achieve even greater accomplishments in this field in the future.
