On October 28, 2016, 5^th grade students of Khazar University’s affiliate Dunya School took a field trip to Balakhani Solid Waste Sorting Plant and Solid Waste Incineration Facility run by Clean City Joint Stock Company. The company representatives told the pupils about the Solid Waste Sorting Plant, noting that the plant sorts out and processes reusable paper, glass, plastic, and scrap metal in order to decrease the total volume of the garbage, create an inexpensive market of raw materials, create the opportunity to recycle these materials, save energy, and most importantly, to reduce the negative impact of waste on the environment.

Pupils watched the sorting and incineration processes firsthand and then participated in a question and answer session.
