On October 17, 2016, a solo concert was performed in Khazar University’s Marble Hall by Jeffrey Werbock, Chairman of American Mugham Society and well-known musician. University faculty, staff and students attended the concert.
Associate Professor Zulfiyya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts, introduced Mr. Werbock with information about his life and works, including the various musical instruments he plays to promote mugham in foreign countries.
Then Jeffrey Werbock performed Azerbaijani mugham on tar and kamancha, and he answered the audience’s questions. Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, thanked Mr. Werbock for the interesting concert and presented him a certificate on behalf of the university.
