On October 5, a meeting of the Khazar University Academic Council was held with the chairmanship of Dr. Hasan Niknafs, President of the University. The following presentations were heard and according decisions were made: Professor Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice President of Khazar University for Academic Affairs, on the membership of the Academic Council and the organization of classes in the new academic year; Deans (Dr. Ingilab Ahmadov, Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Dr. Elza Semedli, Dean of the School of Education; Associate Professor Jabir Khalilov, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Vafa Aslanova, Assistant Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences) on graduation; and Dr. Eldar Shahgaldiyev, Head of the Division for Graduate Students and Research, on applying to the Higher Attestation Commission of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic regarding obtaining docent status for Elnura Azizova, Head of the Department of Languages and Civilizations.

The following staff and faculty members were also given monetary awards and certificates for their effective and responsible work in the 2015-2016 academic year: Firangiz Nasirova, Konul Mehyeddinova, Jeyhun Mammadov, Ali Huseynli, Lamiya Namazova, Lyudmila Sotova and Turan Jafarova.

Other current issues were also discussed during the meeting.
