On September 15, 2016, the Khazar University Department of History and Archeology held a meeting for freshmen. Associate Professor Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology, spoke to the students about the history of Khazar University, including initial difficulties and the hard road to success.

Other participants in the meeting included Tarana Isayeva and Orkhan Zamanov, instructors of the department; Akifa Jafarli, Assistant to the Department Chair; and upperclassmen. The instructors distributed student ID cards to the new students after greeting them. Then upperclassmen also gave the new students advice for their studies.

Then the students watched a video clip about seminars, meetings, and field trips organized by the Department. At the end of the meeting, Akifa Jafarli took the new students on a brief tour of the university.
