On June 29, 2016 a meeting on the development of doctoral education in Azerbijan within the framework of Twinning project was held at Khazar University. Professor Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice President of Khazar University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Eldar Shahgaldiyev, Head of the Division for Graduate Students and Research, professor Adil Asadov,  member of ANAS Institute of Philosophy and Law, academician Humeyir Ahmadov, member of the Institute of Educational Problems in Azerbaijan, Resident Twinning Advisor of EHEA Twinning project, Higher education expert from Estonia Mati Heidmets, higher education expert from Finland, Karl Erik Mickelson and others participated in the meeting.

The participants discussed the issues such as the development of doctoral education in Azerbaijan, the advancement of capacity, the elimination of the problems existing in the doctoral education.

The problems of authority of the universities and other related issues were covered in the meeting as well.
