One of the main goals of establishing the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (HESS), was to nurture professionals in the field of humanities, who are well-aware international and national-moral values, liberal and multicultural thinking. The graduated expected to contribute to scientific research and be in a constant quest for new knowledge in the globalized world. Initially aimed to facilitate scientific research in the majoring fields, gradually the faculty expanded its mission to the fields of education, political science, psychology, translation, and design.
One of the main directions of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences is to train educators, professionals, and teachers, who have sufficient knowledge and skills to conduct independent in different fields of education, elaborate educational policies and strategies, prepare educational programs, and develop modern teaching methods and evaluation strategies.
Since its inception, the School has strived to equip a young generation with professional skills and intellectual potential which meets the requirements of modern times also enables them to actively participate in the social life of the University. The School also carries out professional training programs in the fields of education, psychology, and places the utmost importance to the educational programs such as intellectual development.
One of the main factors in arranging the educational process at the School is to develop creative and critical thinking in future professionals, to ensure that they progress as successful entrepreneurs and citizens being committed to themselves, as well as to their families, institutions, country and overall humanity. At the same time, the School encourages young professionals and researchers to follow the principle of continuous research and lifelong learning, thus promoting the Khazar University’s motto "Always Leading the Way".
