On October 15, 2017, the 43rd graduation ceremony of Khazar University was held at the Opera Studio of Baku Music Academy named after Shovkat Alakbarova. The ceremony was attended by the university administration, professors, teachers, students, parents and guests. It started with the National Anthem of the Azerbaijan Republic.
Dr. Hassan Niknafs, the rector of Khazar University, congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their future life and career.
It was noted that for 26 years, 3271 Bachelor and 685 Master degree students, including today's graduates (233 BA and 62 MA students), graduated from Khazar University. 811 of those graduates earned Honours diploma.
The education, knowledge and skills gained at Khazar University prepare them for a successful career in their selected field. Some graduates work for state organizations, private companies, manage large projects and some run their own businesses.
The congratulatory videos of former graduates of Khazar University who are currently working in different countries of the world were demonstrated at the ceremony. Then, the first graduates of Khazar University were invited to congratulate the graduates.
Rashad Ibadov, Associate Professor at ADA University, a Khazar University Law School graduate, delivered a speech on behalf of the previous graduates of the university.
Then, the ceremony of awarding certificates started. Dr. Hassan Niknafs, the rector of the University; Professor Mahammad Nuriyev, the vice rector of Khazar University for Academic Affairs; Dr. Isakhan Isakhanli, the vice rector for Administration and Student Affairs, deans of schools, heads of departments, and instructors presented the certificates. Graduate Student Oath Ceremony was held after the presentation and memory photos were taken.
Professor Hamlet Isakhanli delivered a speech at the ceremony and wished the graduates success in their new paths of life. He talked about a favourable educational environment at the university emphasising that it does not only prepare high-quality professionals but also raise a thoroughly developed younger generation. Professor also highlighted tense and efficient work of professor-teacher staff, the university’s close relationships with the world's leading universities, the constant growth of material and technical base of the university and noted that Khazar University has always been distinguished in the rankings of international organizations and holds the first place among Azerbaijani universities.
The event continued with a concert program prepared by the faculty members and the girls' dance group of the university. At the end, the ceremony ended with a spectacular performance of the choir composed of teachers and students.
On 15 May, 2017, a meeting with 1996-1997 alumni of Khazar University was held at the university. Baba Bayramli, Director of Alumni Relations Centre, greeted alumni and gave information about the objectives and expectations of the meeting. Later, Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Rector of Khazar University, noted the importance of establishing close relations between university and alumni and expressed hope that such alumni cooperation will have successful outcomes. Professor Mohammad Nuriyev who expressed his pleasure of meeting with his former students encouraged alumni to participate actively in the university life and noted that publishing series of articles about their successes on “Khazar Review” will be very interesting and useful for students. Ramal Ahmadov, Vice-President of Khazar University Alumni Association gave information about activity of the organization and invited alumni to join the association and become members. Graduates Azer Gasimov, Finance Manager of “BP- Azerbaijan” company, Mirbaghir Mirbabayev, Branch Manager of “Pasha Holding”, Anar Karimov, Head of the Delegation of Hungarian Chamber of Commerce to Azerbaijan and Georgia, Aydin Babayev, Executive Director of "Marketsaz" company, Murad Aslanov, Branch Manager of "Aristocrat" tourism company, Namig Ibrahimov, Deputy Director of the Social Development Fund for IDPs of the Azerbaijan Republic, Rufat Mahmud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Public Association for ARPA, Yusif Hajiyev, Director of "Barama KM" company, Yusif Mammadli, representative of "Bioworks company on Caspian region, Khaled Ajalov, Financial Chief of "Nort West Construction" company, Kamran Iskandarov, Sales Manager of "SOLUS Ltd." company, Samir Nuriyev, Manager of "Real LLC" company, Kamran Behbudov, Executive Director of "Azintellectservis" company, Eldar Latifov, Manager of "Ship Rock LLC" company and Yashar Iskandarov, Founder and Director of "GABEG Ltd" company made speeches and expressed their pleasure of attending such a meeting and emphasized the importance of organizing such kind of meetings regularly and establishing closer relationships with the university.
Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology, Firangiz Nasirova, Senior Instructor of the Department of English Language and Literature, Lyudmila Sotova, Director of Quality Assurance Center and Jeyhun Mammedov, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, were among the participants of the meeting as well.
On February 25, 2017, a masterclass on “Bank Risks Management” was jointly organized by Khazar University Alumni Association and Alumni Relations Center for students of the School of Economics and Management. Baba Bayramli, Director of Alumni Relations Centre, welcomed participants and stressed the importance of the topic of the masterclass. Eldar Hamidov, Khazar University Alumni Association president and chairman of Bank of Baku JSC, presented the logo and slogan of Khazar University Alumni Association. Then Khazar University alumni – Ramal Ahmadov, Head of Department of Damir Bank JSC and Nigar Jabbarova, collaborator of Bank of Baku JSC, made a presentation on “Bank Risks Management”. The masterclass continued with interesting discussions and debates with the active participation of Elvin Mirzayev, instructor of the School of Economics and Management.
On December 10, 2016, the university administration held a meeting with 2016 bachelor-level graduates of the School of Economics and Management. Baba Bayramli, Director of the Center for Alumni Relations, opened the meeting by greeting the alumni and calling on them to actively participate in discussions.
Dr. Ingilab Ahmadov, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, gave the participants detailed information about the School’s MBA program and recommended that they consider continuing their education at Khazar.
Dr. Hassan Niknafs, President of the University, and Dr. Isakhan Isakhanli, Vice President for Administration and Student Affairs, emphasized that alumni’s thoughts about Khazar University are important. They noted that sincere discussion with the graduates would be useful for the university in the future.
Then a discussion was held with the alumni.
On October 31, 2016, Khazar University Alumni Association and Khazar University Center for Alumni Relations held a masterclass for third- and fourth-year bachelor’s students on “Ways to Build a Successful Career.” Baba Bayramli, Director of the Center for Alumni Relations, greeted the participants and emphasized the importance of this masterclass series which is organized for students. Eldar Hamidov, Vice Chair of the Executive Board of Bank of Baku and the President of the Alumni Association, spoke about his own career experience and gave the students useful advice.
A presentation was also made by employees of the Fireworks HRM Company run by Khazar University alumna Laura Hamidova.
Local and international students participated in the interactive presentation.
On June 4, 2016, a Constituent Conference of the Khazar University Alumni Association was held in the university’s Marble Hall. Baba Bayramli, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, opened the conference with information about the process of establishment of the Association.
Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, greeted the participants, shared his views on the objectives and activities of the Association, and wished the alumni success in their future activities. Baba Bayramli made a presentation of the Association’s Facebook page with the assistance of Vazifa Karimzada as well as a presentation of the Alumni Association Regulations. A discussion was held about the structural divisions of the Association and an election was held. Eldar Hamidov, Khazar alumnus and Vice Chairman of Bank of Baku, was elected president of the Association Board. After members of the Association Board and Executive Committee were selected, the conference was completed.
On January 23, a working group of Khazar University alumni met with the university administration. Baba Bayramli, Director of the Center for Alumni Relations, opened the meeting by giving brief information about the objectives for the working group.
Then Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, greeted the alumni and expressed his confidence that the creation of an Alumni Association would be beneficial both to the alumni and to the university. He emphasized the importance of learning from international experience in this area.
The following participants in the meeting made speeches and suggestions about the working group, the creation of the Alumni Association, and its activities: Eldar Hamidov, Vice Chairman of Bank of Baku; Hokuma Karimova, Manager of Public Relations for YARAT Arts Center; Salbin Alakbarova, Market Research Manager of Nar Mobile; Dr. Rashad Ibadov, instructor at ADA University; Namig Karimov, Adviser to the Chairman of Amrahbank; Metin Asgar, Legal Adviser of Baku Legal Center; Nigar Karimova, employee of SOCAR Human Resources Department; Elmar Baghirov, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Hassan Niknafs, President of Khazar University.
Professor Hamlet Isaxanli closed out the discussion with his own suggestions and recommendations to the Working Group.
On December 26, 2015, a reunion was held in the Khazar University Marble Hall for alumni from various years. The event officially opened with a concert of the Khazar University Chamber Orchestra. Then Baba Bayramli, Alumni Center Director, greeted the guests and explained the objectives and expectations for the reunion. Dr. Hassan Niknafs, Khazar University President, said he was happy to see alumni back at Khazar and shared his thoughts about further development of their connections to their alma mater. Baba Bayramli shared a brief history of Khazar’s development before passing the floor to alumni.
Alumni who made speeches and suggestions for the Alumni Center included Parviz Tahmazov, Advisor to BP Azerbaijan’s Legal Department; Eldar Hamidov, Deputy Chairman of Bank of Baku; Salbin Alakbarova, Market Research Manager for Nar Mobile; Mukhtar Mammadov, Head of the International Affairs Department of the Ministry of Education; Rashad Ibadov, instructor at ADA University; Hokuma Karimova, Head of Public Relations at YARAT Fine Arts Center; Ramal Ahmadov, Manager of Corporate Clients at Damirbank.
Then the event continued with refreshments.
